Riverside Writers is a creative writing group in Rochdale, UK.

The group meets every Thursday morning from 10:00am to 12:00noon at Rochdale Central Library, Number One Riverside, Smith Street, Rochdale. All writers aged 18+, with any level of experience, are very welcome to come along and join the sessions. All genres of writing are encouraged although offensive material, or material that is considered to be racist or discriminatory, is not acceptable.

Most of our weekly sessions include workshops with prompts, examples and the chance to create new work and share it with the group. Projects since the group began include several publications, group visits for research and inspiration, and celebratory events.

Refreshments: are available from the Bean cafe within the Number One Riverside building.

Public Transport Access : The Library is ideally placed for access by public transport, being right next to the Rochdale Interchange with the Bus Station and Metrolink terminus just a minute away on foot. The Metrolink from Rochdale railway station runs approx every 12 minutes and takes only a few minutes.

For those travelling by car: There are several car parks nearby with Council car parking free of charge for up to 3 hours, there are some disabled spaces at Riverside and the shoppers car park next to Marks and Spencers is very convenient for the library and reasonably priced.
